How about Landon's beginning with Everton? What a team for him to latch onto with Tim Howard already there... Best of luck to both of them and Everton's continued success. I'll have my first SA Cap in Tampa in a couple weeks. Look forward to seeing everyone there... -Brian
I support the USA team and am backing them to reach the semi final.
It's on!
We will be at Mulligan's Bar "N" Grille in Strongsville. They have TVs tuned, tables reserved, and the DJ has agreed to hold off until after the match is over.
Not an easy task here in Cleveland, considering there is a Cavs game on at the same time. A huge thank you to Brook over @bigsoccer for nailing everything down.
For all the info, directions, menu and drink specials, check out the facebook event page. It's an open invite, so all are welcome.
American Football, here in Cleveland OH, is the sport that best defines the palette of the city.
Why is that, why are the games so important to us here?
Because there are only 16 of them, they all count. Not like baseball where you play half-a-trillion games every season (sometimes twice a day). Football is also relatively low scoring when compared to basketball, where 3/4 of the game doesn't even need to be paid attention to by anyone other than the players or coaches. Unless it's a complete blowout, both teams have 70 points or so going into the 4th quarter and the game gets serious. You get some nail-biters at the end, but there are so many games in a season you can blow a few of them off. The rarity of the football games, like anything else, makes them more valuable.
Imagine then if the entire football season were only the playoffs? Just imagine how much more the games would mean to us then. Take that degree of pressure and anticipation, bottle it and wait. . . 4 years.
More to come. . .
All I can say currently is that we are in the recruiting phase at the moment.
I am about to book my flight to South Africa and was wondering how many of you are planning on being there cheer our boys on?!
The U.S. lost its second straight friendly on Wednesday night. What did we see?
The U.S. lost 1-0 in a lackluster affair in Slovakia on Saturday. But the game did show U.S. supporters some important things.
